What's the big idea?

Every story or movie has a "big idea" behind it. For example, the movie Scarface can be said to have (at least) two big ideas. One, arrogance will lead to a downfall. Second, one can rise to the top no matter what one's starting point is.

Fables also has several big ideas. Take five minutes to think of one, and post it to THIS blog.

Now that you've established a theme of Fables, prove it in a well-organized, well-written blog post ON YOUR OWN BLOG. Refer to the story as well as the visuals. You are not summarizing what you have read.  Instead, the object is to read BETWEEN the lines and figure out what FABLES is really about.  It is not simply an updating of fairy tales.  The author and artist have a point they are expressing throughout the graphic novel.  Think about it.

  3. To me the Big Idea is the fact that the Fairy tale characters have to adapt to a new scenenary which is New York City. - Messiaha

  4. Pretty much the BIG idea is fable taled characters/creatures living in modern times and having to adjust to their new life style and get use to the sense of change that has fallen upon them.
